Self-Evolving AI Robot System for Lunar Exploration and Human Outpost Construction

「Realization of AI robots that autonomously learn, adapt to their environment, evolve in intelligence and act alongside human beings, by 2050.」

In this research theme, we have designed, fabricated, and analyzed the functions of modular robots capable of performing tasks with adaptive shape-changing versatility, advancing the development of a modular robot system at the core of this project. The methods of configuring robot modules, the forms created by combining these modules, and the movements and functions (tasks) of the robots in each form (design) are all stored in a database (repository). This data will be utilized for the simultaneous optimization of structure and controllers based on hierarchical reinforcement learning in research and development item 2.
